The Cold War

The Cold War (1947–1991) was the continuing tension of political conflict, military tension, proxy wars, and economic competition existing after World War II(1939–1945), mainly between the Soviet Union, it's satellite states, and the United States. Although the Soviet Union and the United States never actually met forces through militaries, they expressed the conflict through military coalitions, strategic conventional force deployments, proxy wars , a nucleur arms race, economic, and technological competitions, such as the "Space race".
